ABOUT CAPTAIN WYLIE BERG
Captain Wylie Berg is one of the most passionate fishermen you'll ever meet. Capt. Wylie has been fishing ever since he could walk. He grew up fishing in New York, spending many days on the fabled waters off Montauk Point, catching giant striped bass, shark, bluefish, and tuna. Capt. Wylie has fished all over the world, including Zambia, Costa Rica, Panama, Belize, Honduras, the Bahamas, New Zealand, Mag Bay in Mexico, Hawaii, the Seychelle Islands and the Galapagos Islands.
Capt. Wylie caught his first 400 pound blue marlin -- on stand up tackle -- at age 12 off the Isla Montuosa, Panama. At age 16, Capt. Wylie caught his first black marlin -- a 600 plus pounder -- while at the legendary Tropic Star Lodge in Panama. And in the Spring of 2019, Capt. Wylie caught and released a massive 1200 pound blue marlin off of Isabela Island in the Galapagos.
Capt. Wylie is also an excellent fly fisherman. He fishes all the major trout rivers in Montana and the famous Delaware River in New York State every year, and has fly fished for bonefish in Belize and the Bahamas, as well as in the Florida Keys and nearby Biscayne Bay. In the spring of 2022, Capt. Wylie fly fished on fabled Alphonse Atoll in the Seychelle Islands catching hundreds of huge bonefish and several giant trevallys. Every year, in the late Fall, Capt. Wylie fishes the bayou south of Houma, Louisiana, catching giant redfish and black drum on the fly. Capt. Wylie lives and dreams fishing.
Whether you're an old hand or someone who's just starting out, Capt. Wylie will be more than happy to provide you with some pointers or exchange fishing stories.
